A rheological study of lamellar structures on the C12E4/D2O system

Abstract
The mechanical properties of the lamellar phase of the
system C12E4/D2O were studied along an isoplethal path (30 wt%
C12E4) in the temperature range 10-60 °C. A dynamic analysis was
determined by small strain oscillatory rheometry. The multi-lamellar
vesicles were transformed by shearing the lamellar phase. The micellar
phase was investigated by steady and dynamic shear experiments. The
mechanical spectra of the lamellar phase show a strong dependence of
the moduli on the frequency. This is typical of defective lamellar phases.

The Italian Society of Rheology (SIR) organizes every two years the Italian Rheology Conference, which is the meeting point of the National and International rheological community to promote knowledge and discuss research in the field of rheology. The Conference consists of keynote lectures, oral communications and posters on topics related to all the thematic areas of rheology. The XIX edition will be held in the conference rooms of Plesso Belmeloro, in the city centre of Bologna, in June 16th-19th, 2026.
